2017 is the amazing fifth year that Stanlaw Abbey Development Trust have organised their toy appeal in aid of vulnerable and underprivileged children. There has been a staggering response yet again and we would like to thank everyone who has been so generous. At a time when economically throughout the country things are getting tighter, people in the local area have rallied around and have so selflessly given presents, money, gift-wrap and time in order to make these children’s Christmas a little bit special.
This year DHL Supply Chain in North Road chose to nominate Stanlaw Abbey as their charity. Much to our delight some of their amazing staff rolled up in a massive van and proceeded to drop off sacks and sacks of toys for children of all ages.
And to prove it’s not just the adults, we have had help again this year from our youngest supporters Charlie and his little brother who have been magnificent; they have collected and donated several boxes of toys hoping that all the children we help will have a Happy Christmas.
With the help and generosity of people like these and many more, we have been able to donate over 900 wonderful gifts and selection boxes to children who would otherwise not have any presents to open on Christmas Day.
It is truly humbling to see such kindness coming from people from all walks of life.
